Self-wicking stock tanks

A wicking bed is a self-watering raised bed based on an old principle of sub-irrigation, where the water supply sits below the stick tank that is wicked towards the upper soil in the container above.

Often, the ideal garden space, maximized sunlight and water access rarely align perfectly. We innovated and solved water access issues by designing and building our own, customized 4’, 6’ and 8’ wicking beds

In partnership BTL Liners, we developed a high quality custom drop-in liner.

We build our own copper/PEX water inlet/outlet component. This is effective at reducing at reducing leaching from have PVC in the lower water tank.

The wicking beds require filling up every other week, and weekly during a summer heat wave.
